Privacy and data retention
Which data LocalBook keeps, who can see it and when LocalBook deletes it.
LocalBook keeps only the data that it needs to operate. The privacy policy gives the rules. This page is a short summary.
Guest data
- Only the host of the property can see the data from a request (full name, e-mail, phone, message).
- The property page and the channel calendars show only taken dates, without guest data.
- 12 months after the departure from a confirmed stay, LocalBook deletes the guest data. Only the dates stay.
- LocalBook deletes the data of rejected, cancelled or expired requests after 90 days.
Host data
- LocalBook deletes the data of a rejected or withdrawn host role application after 90 days.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time: Download your data or delete your account.
Security
- LocalBook does not save IP addresses. For the request limits, it uses an encrypted hash of the address.
- LocalBook keeps the calendar addresses from other sites encrypted.
