How to
Import bookings from Booking.com and Airbnb
How to make bookings from other sites take the dates in LocalBook.
The import works in the opposite direction to the export: bookings from Booking.com or Airbnb take the dates in LocalBook. LocalBook guests see these dates as taken.
Before you start
Connect the channel in the Sales channels (iCal) section: Show LocalBook dates on Booking.com and Airbnb.
Procedure
- On the site, copy the calendar export address (it ends with
.ics):- Booking.com: extranet → Rates & Availability → Sync calendars → Export calendar.
- Airbnb: Calendar → Availability → Connect calendars → Export calendar.
- In LocalBook, next to the channel, paste the address in Calendar address from … (import).
- Click Import calendar.
The first import takes a short time. Then the channel shows when LocalBook last checked the calendar and how many bookings or blocks come from it.
Important information
- LocalBook checks the calendars every 15 minutes. But the sites update their calendars every few hours. Thus a new booking can show with a delay.
- When you confirm a request, LocalBook checks the calendars again.
- If a booking from a site overlaps a confirmed stay in LocalBook, you get the e-mail "Possible double booking". Agree with the guests who stays.
- If LocalBook cannot download a calendar for one day, you get an e-mail. Usually this helps: copy the current export address and paste it with Change address.
Stop the import
Click Stop importing. LocalBook makes free the dates that the bookings from this site took.
