Glossary
The terms that LocalBook and this help use.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Host | A person who offers a place to stay in LocalBook. An administrator gives the host role. |
| Guest | A person who asks for a place to stay. A guest does not need an account. |
| Property | A place to stay in LocalBook: a house, an apartment, a room, a cabin. |
| Property page | The public page with the description, the calendar and the request form. |
| Embed code | Code that shows the property on the website of the host. |
| Request | A question from a guest about dates. It does not take the dates. |
| Stay | A confirmed request. It takes the dates. |
| Block | Dates that the host closes without a guest. |
| Channel | A different site for places to stay, for example Booking.com or Airbnb. |
| Calendar address | The address of an iCal (.ics) file. Sites use it to share taken dates. |
| Export | LocalBook sends taken dates to a channel. |
| Import | LocalBook gets bookings from a channel. |
| Dashboard | The part of LocalBook for logged-in users: properties, requests, account. |
